WHEN WILL WE ACHIEVE WORLD PEACE?

World peace, or peace on Earth, is the concept of an ideal state of peace within and among all people and nations on Planet Earth.
The achievement of peace is prevented to a significant extent by those who are actively trying to promote it. A famous saying came out of Rome: "If you want peace, prepare for war". Human nature is not compatible with peace. It never was and never will be, as long as human beings continue to have an ego. The closest you can get to peace is a temporary lack of war, brought about by the realization that perceived enemies are far too powerful to defeat. Those who preach peace are weaklings. In nature, any creature which displays weakness becomes the target of others. This is especially true in humans. Airy fairy snowflakes, all gentle and peace loving, are actively inviting predators to rip them apart. Any nation that wants peace had better be a nation of warriors.
World peace and unity means peace and unity in society. Society means people. It means people like you and me. So what is stopping you and me from achieving peace and unity? In other words what divides us, and whatever it is can we both discard it? If we look around the world today, it is obvious what are some of the things that divide people. For example, religious belief has divided people for thousands of years, caused tremendous violence and human suffering, and it continues today.
So, can we (you and I) discard whatever religious belief we have, which includes all the dogma, customs, and traditions that go with it?If you have not, then what is stopping you? We must also discard our political beliefs, which includes our identification to a particular political group, such as Republican, Democrat, Nationalist, Communist, or whatever the case may be.

I know what’s wrong. It’s that nobody believes in peace. Not really.
Check the news. Check Quora. What’s there? Murder, mayhem, destruction, war. No writers are covering the peace scene. And the odd time somebody does a peace piece, nobody reads it.
In Neil Gaiman’s novel, American Gods, the health and strength of any given god depends on its number of followers. With just a handful of half-hearted followers, a god is shabby and haggard. When that following dwindles to zero, the god dies.
Well, the God of Peace is at death’s door. She needs more followers.

World peace is only achieved through internal means—by liberating ourselves from artificial boundaries that separate us all. As with all Dharmic Religions, (Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism), ahimsa (avoidance of violence) is a central concept.

We can live in peace in order to make our environment peaceful by following some ways.
•Find Your Inner Peace.Without inner peace, you'll feel in a constant state of conflict. Trying to fill your life with possessions or improving yourself by social climbing without ever stopping to value your inner worth will leave you perpetually unhappy. When you're angry, find a nice quiet place to stop, take a deep breath, and relax. Turn off the TV, or computer. Get out into nature if possible, or go for a good, long walk. Put on some soft music or turn down the lights. When you feel calm again, get up and get on with your life.
•Seek to love, not control others. Ceasing to seek power over people and outcomes in your life is the first major step to living peacefully. Trying to control people is about seeking to impose your will and reality on others without ever trying to see their side of things. A controlling approach to relationships will keep you in conflicts with others.

•Moderate your convictions. Thinking in absolutes and holding to convictions without ever considering the viewpoints and perspectives of others is a sure way to live a life without peace. This type of extremist thinking usually leads to reactive, hasty, and driven behavior that lacks the benefit of reflection and deliberative thinking.
•Be tolerant. Tolerance in all that you think and do will make a difference in your life and in the lives of others around you.
•Be Peace. A peaceful person does not use violence against another person or animal.
•Seek forgiveness, not revenge.Live in the present, not the past. Dwelling on that which should have been and reliving past hurts will keep the negatives of the past alive and bring constant internal conflict. Forgiveness allows you to live in the present, to look forward to the future, and to let the past settle gently.
•Be the change you wish to see in the World.Change yourself. Violence starts with your acceptance of its possibility as a solution and often its inevitability. So it’s inside you that you need to go to stop violence and become peaceful.

With peace, people are freer to tour any country of their choice without fear of violence. World peace also contributes to cultural exchanges. People are able to interact freely with each other and they can learn different cultures from other people. World peace also contributes to more developed economies.

We can head towards world peace by: Start by stamping out exclusion,Bring about true equality between women and men,Share out wealth fairly,Tackle climate change,Control arms sales,Display less hubris, make more policy change,Protect political space,Fix intergenerational relations,Build an integrated peace movement,Look within.

We could help. You and I could follow Peace. That would make two more. It’s not much, but it’s something.

But wait, there’s more we can do for Peace. What if we talked about it, and wrote about it, and studied it … and we never shut up about Peace? Other people would join us. How do I know? Because enthusiasm is a magnet.
And then, what if we figured out a way to ‘pay it forward’ and pass it on? That’s using the multiplier effect for Peace—powerful stuff.

Nothing’s stopping us. Let’s go for it.
